This multi-unit housing project is intended to nestle into the Frog Town neighborhood along the Los Angeles River. The project focuses on creating a space for the existing community to gather for public events and envisions itself as a hub for entertainment and public use. The project also requires minimal modification to the existing built environment.
A public thoroughfare that connects the Los Angeles River and the residential community through the commercial part of the neighborhood was envisioned. This way, Frog Terrace holds itself open not only to residents of Frog Town but also to the community at large. In addition to incorporating a thoroughfare for community access, distinctive light wells that allow natural light to reach the lowest levels of the structure are incorporated into the project.
