In 2017, I participated in a social workshop in Canoa, Ecuador. Canoa is a small beach town about six hours away from Quito that was devastated by an earthquake in 2016.
I worked with a group of international students from Latin America and Europe to develop a project with and for the community. We worked with a local community leader to design and build a community space, a surf shack. We worked with local materials like bamboo. The design-build process was completed in fifteen days.
