angel is a first-generation American hailing from South-Central Los Angeles, where his diverse upbringing shaped his perspective on life. angel's journey has been enriched by a myriad of professional experiences, including stints in residential construction, teaching swimming and fitness, and dedicated service in the United States Navy.

As the first in his family to serve, angel's time as a mechanic on the U.S.S. Ronald Reagan during Operation Enduring Freedom and his involvement in Operation Tomadachi, a humanitarian effort after the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami in Japan, profoundly impacted him. Witnessing the vulnerability of the built environment during these experiences sparked a newfound understanding of space and its profound impact on communities.

After being honorably discharged from the military, angel, now a first-generation college student, embarked on an educational journey in architecture. His studies at Woodbury University in Burbank, California, opened doors to avenues of service, leading him to participate in volunteer social workshops in Latin America. There, angel collaborated with diverse teams and communities to design and build public spaces in impoverished areas, drawing upon his upbringing and military service to forge meaningful connections.

He recently completed a Master in Architecture degree at Harvard University Graduate School of Design, where he focused on architectural development for social impact. angel was selected as a Pat Tillman scholar at the Pat Tillman Foundation in 2022, where he joined a group of service-oriented veterans in graduate-level education dedicated to social change.

angel views architecture as a medium to create profound experiences for people, manifested through ground, geometries, textures, and light. Recognizing the transformative power of community-based design-and-build projects, angel aspires to bring this positive impact to communities across the United States through design and design education.
